Columbia Green's AVRS® Eco-Roof system can be provided pre-grown, post-planted with pots or plugs, planted with sedum tiles and hydro-planted with cuttings or seeds. We encourage draught tolerant, firesafe, non-invasive mix of sedums, local, and native plants that welcome back local insects, birds, bees and butterflies to the environment the roof replaced. Columbia Green's Eco-Roof system is designed for storm water metering, storm water detention and retention. Columbia Green's Eco-Roof system is designed to encourage proper bio and phyto-remediation of storm-water and air pollutants. Columbia Green's Eco-Roof system is also designed for rapid installation and ease of maintenance. The overlapping and double interlocking modular system encapsulates the roof allowing one to overfill the module up to 4 feet for intensive purposes. At the same time if there is a leak or a problem on the roof one can remove the plants, growing media and module as a unit to fix the problem placing and interlocking the module back into position without breaking the integrity of the system. Columbia Green's AVRS® Eco-Roof system is the only overlapping double interlocking modular system that locks to the building and itself. This patented “Eco-technology” provides for a fully encapsulated and integrated storm-water management system. This is in contrast to the independent nursery style trays that neighbor next to each other and far removed from the very thin felt-based pre-cultivated sedum sod systems that provide zero airspace under fleece retention and felt drainage mats. While considered green roofs these systems are limited in what they can provide for plant diversity, storm-water management and remediation.
